How Bracket Chaos Works

Bracket Chaos is a free NCAA March Madness bracket pool platform with a twist: instead of just filling out a bracket and watching it crumble, you play three different games throughout the entire tournament. Your total score combines all three, keeping you engaged from the First Four through the Championship.

1. Create or Join a Pool

Getting started takes seconds. Create a new pool and share the invite code with friends, family, or coworkers. Or join an existing pool by entering the 6-character invite code someone shared with you. No account creation, no email verification, no passwords — just pick a display name and you're in.

Free players can join up to 2 pools per season. Premium members ($4.99/season) get unlimited pools, an ad-free experience, and a PRO badge next to their name.

2. Fill Out Your Bracket

Just like a traditional bracket pool, you pick the winner of every game in the NCAA tournament — from the Round of 64 all the way through the Championship. Points increase as the rounds get harder to predict:

The First Four games (play-in games before the Round of 64) are optional — if you pick them correctly you earn bonus points, but you can skip them and your bracket will auto-fill once the winners advance. Brackets lock when the first Round of 64 game tips off.

3. Play Upset Roulette

This is where Bracket Chaos gets interesting. Each round from the Round of 64 through the Elite 8, you pick 3 games where you think the lower-seeded underdog will pull off an upset. The bigger the seed gap between the teams, the more points you earn if you're right.

Points by seed gap (Rounds 1-4)

e.g. #8 over #9

3 pts
e.g. #10 over #7
4-6 seeds

10 pts
e.g. #15 over #2

Final Four: High-stakes picks

In the Final Four and Championship, you make 1 pick per game — but the stakes change. Pick any team (underdog or favorite). If your pick wins, you earn points. If they lose, you lose points. Picking the underdog is riskier but more rewarding.

Upset Roulette picks lock at the start of each round, so you make fresh picks as the tournament progresses. Even if your bracket is busted, you can still climb the leaderboard with smart upset picks.

4. Play Cinderella Bingo

Every player gets randomly generated bingo cards filled with underdog teams. When an underdog wins their game, a chip is automatically placed on your card. Complete rows, columns, or diagonals to score points. It's completely passive — no picks required, just root for the underdogs.

Since cards are random, every player has a unique experience. You might get lucky with a card full of teams that go on a Cinderella run — or you might need to sweat out every game. That's the chaos.

5. Check the Leaderboard

Your total score is the sum of all three games: Bracket + Upset Roulette + Cinderella Bingo. The pool leaderboard updates in real-time as games finish. There's also a global leaderboard across all pools if you want to see how you stack up against everyone on Bracket Chaos.

Why Bracket Chaos?

Traditional bracket pools have a fundamental problem: most people's brackets are busted by the end of the first weekend. Once your champion loses, there's no reason to keep paying attention. Bracket Chaos solves this with side games that keep every player engaged for all three weeks of the tournament.

Upset Roulette gives you fresh picks every round — even if your bracket is destroyed, you can climb back up the leaderboard by correctly predicting upsets. Cinderella Bingo adds a layer of randomness and excitement that requires zero effort — just cheer for the underdogs and watch your card fill up.

The result: more engagement, more trash talk, more fun. From Selection Sunday through the Championship, Bracket Chaos keeps your pool active.
